First of all, thank you to everyone who came out for tryouts this week. We had an incredible turnout and it was really exciting to see so many students interested in being part of the inaugural Wayzata Girls Badminton team. The effort, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship shown throughout the week made this a very enjoyable tryout process.

As with any tryouts, these decisions are never easy. We had many players who showed great effort and potential, and unfortunately we were not able to keep everyone on the team this season. To those who were not selected, please do not be discouraged. Badminton is a sport that improves quickly with practice, and we strongly encourage you to continue playing and try again next year. We truly appreciate the time and energy you put into tryouts.

Tomorrow’s session will be an optional open play for anyone who would like to come and play, hit, or practice. Whether you made the team or not, you are welcome to join. I will also be there if anyone would like additional help, practice time, or to review any of the skills we worked on during tryouts.

For those who made the team, our first official practice will be Monday at 5:45 PM.
